Most popular shipping routes

The routes we run most

Every motorcycle shipment crosses state lines — AA handles the full route, not just one end of it.

Midwest → Southeast
Illinois, Indiana, Ohio → Florida
Our highest-volume snowbird corridor. Runs year-round, peaks October–December southbound and March–April northbound.
Northeast → Southeast
New York, New Jersey → Florida
Second-busiest corridor. Popular with seasonal residents, retirees, and buyers shipping purchased bikes.
Midwest → Southwest
Illinois, Michigan → Arizona
Phoenix and Scottsdale are major winter destinations. Snowbird season runs November–March.
National → South Dakota
All states → Sturgis, SD (August)
We ship to the Sturgis Rally from coast to coast every August. Book early — lead times fill fast by June.
East Coast → West Coast
Northeast → California
New York to Los Angeles, Boston to San Francisco — cross-country shipping is one of our specialties. Typically 7–14 days transit.
Military PCS moves
Any base → any base, nationwide
We regularly ship for active duty personnel on PCS orders. We coordinate pickup and delivery around your reporting date.

How it works

Three steps, door to door

01

Get an instant quote

Use our online calculator — no email required. Enter your pickup and delivery states, bike type, and preferred shipping method. Price comes back instantly.

02

Schedule your pickup

Pick a date that works for you. We come to your door — home, storage unit, dealership, wherever the bike is. You don’t need to bring it anywhere.

03

We deliver to the door

Your bike moves through our terminal network and is delivered to the address you choose. You inspect on arrival. The price you were quoted is the price you pay — no surprises.

Why riders choose AA

A motorcycle shipping company that’s been doing this since 1983

We’ve been doing this since 1983. That means 40+ years of routes, terminals, drivers, and systems built specifically around motorcycles — not cars, not general freight, not a brokered marketplace where your bike gets assigned to whoever takes the job. When you ship with AA, we handle your bike start to finish.

Our 47 terminals nationwide mean your motorcycle moves through a network we own and operate. There’s no subcontracting, no mystery carriers. When you call us, you’re talking to people who know exactly which routes run when, what the transit times are for your specific corridor, and how to handle your bike’s make and model properly.

Non-palletized and palletized motorcycle shipping are both available on most routes. Non-palletized is the standard and more affordable option — your bike is secured to eye bolts on the floor of an enclosed trailer. Palletized is the premium option, securing your bike to a pallet in an enclosed air-ride trailer with a forklift — maximum protection, online tracking available. If you’re not sure which is right for your bike, our team can help you decide with no sales pressure.

We ship Harleys, Hondas, Ducatis, BMWs, Indians, sport bikes, cruisers, adventure bikes, and everything in between. If it has two wheels and a motor, we’ve shipped it.

Verified customer review
“My experience with AA Motorcycle Shipping was excellent. My Softail HD is spotless with no blemishes — it was picked up in Wisconsin and dropped off in California in the same condition. The staff and drivers were kind and professional. I would highly recommend them.”

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about shipping by state

Do you really ship to all 50 states?
Yes — every state, including Alaska and Hawaii. Alaska and Hawaii require ocean freight for at least part of the route, which affects transit time and pricing. Get a quote for your specific route and we’ll give you the exact details including transit window and any special handling requirements.
What’s the difference between non-palletized and palletized motorcycle shipping?
Non-palletized shipping is our standard service — your motorcycle is secured to eye bolts on the floor of an enclosed trailer, door-to-door. Palletized shipping secures your bike to a pallet and loads it into an enclosed air-ride trailer with a forklift — maximum protection and online tracking available. For vintage, custom, or high-value motorcycles, palletized is worth the premium.
How long does motorcycle shipping take from state to state?
Transit time depends on your specific route. Regional routes — neighboring or nearby states — typically run 3–7 days. Cross-country routes generally take 7–14 days. Alaska and Hawaii take longer due to the ocean freight leg. Your instant quote will include the estimated transit window for your exact pickup and delivery locations.
Do I need to be present for pickup and delivery?
Someone needs to be present to release the bike at pickup and accept it at delivery — but it doesn’t have to be you personally. A family member, trusted neighbor, or property manager works fine. We’ll coordinate the schedule in advance so whoever is there knows what to expect.
Is my motorcycle insured while it’s being shipped?
Yes. All shipments are covered during transport. We’ll walk you through the coverage details when you book. We also strongly recommend documenting your bike’s condition with photos before pickup — we have a complete guide on how to do this properly that we can share with you.
Can I ship a motorcycle I just purchased online?
Absolutely — this is one of the most common reasons people ship with us. If the seller is present, we can pick up directly from them. If the bike is at a dealership, auction lot, or storage facility, we coordinate pickup directly with them. You don’t need to fly out to retrieve your bike — just book the shipment and we handle the rest.
Do I need to drain the gas tank before shipping?
You don’t need to drain the tank completely, but we recommend keeping fuel at or below a quarter tank. A nearly empty tank reduces weight and eliminates any fuel-related concerns during transport. We’ll send you a full preparation checklist when you book so your bike is ready for pickup day.
How does snowbird motorcycle shipping work?
Snowbird shipping — moving your bike south for the winter and back north in the spring — is one of our specialties. The most popular corridors are Midwest to Florida, Midwest to Arizona, and Northeast to Florida. Most snowbirds book both directions at once to lock in their preferred pickup dates. If you’re planning a seasonal move, reach out early — our fall southbound schedule books up quickly.
Can I drop off my motorcycle at one of your terminals?
Yes — same-day drop-off shipping is available at all 47 of our terminal locations. You must place your order first to receive a booking number before arriving. View all terminal locations above or call us at 1-888-347-1391 to find the nearest location to you.
