We ship motorcycles from the USA to these Latin America destinations
Three Caribbean and Central American destinations served with regular ocean sailings. Select your destination for arrival port, transit time, and customs details.
Dominican Republic
Port of Santo Domingo
Sailings from Miami, Jacksonville, and Newark. One of the closest Caribbean routes — short ocean crossing from Florida and the East Coast. RoRo and container shipping available.
Panama
Port of Balboa (Pacific) / Colón (Atlantic)
Gateway to Central and South America. Two arrival ports — one on each coast. Sailings from Miami, Jacksonville, Houston, Newark, and Long Beach. RoRo and container available.
Puerto Rico
Spanish Terminal, San Juan
US territory — no import duties, no vehicle age restrictions. Sailings from Jacksonville, FL and Eddystone, PA. One of the shortest international crossings we offer.
Door-to-port shipping from the USA to Latin America
We pick up at your US address, handle all export documentation, load onto the next available sailing, and assign a customs broker at the destination port. Latin America routes are among our shortest ocean crossings — Miami to Santo Domingo and Miami to Panama are both compact Caribbean and Central American runs, handled start to finish under one company.
RoRo vs container shipping to Latin America
Two methods available for all Latin America destinations. Choose based on your motorcycle’s condition, value, and budget.
RoRo — Roll-On/Roll-Off
Standard — most Latin America shipments
Your motorcycle is secured on the car deck inside the vessel for the full crossing — protected throughout the voyage. Reliable departure and arrival schedules. Cost-effective and the most widely used method for the Caribbean and Central America routes. Bike must be in working order to ride onto the vessel.
Container Shipping
Premium — high-value, vintage & inoperable bikes
Your motorcycle ships in a sealed steel container — fully isolated from other cargo for the entire crossing. The right method for inoperable motorcycles that cannot ride onto a RoRo vessel, or for high-value and collector-grade bikes where maximum protection is the priority. Contact us to discuss container availability for your Latin America destination.
From your US address to the departure port
Every Latin America shipment starts with an enclosed truck run from your US location to the departure port. Two domestic options available.
Shipping to Puerto Rico — no import duties, no age restrictions
Puerto Rico stands apart from the other Latin America destinations — it’s a US territory, which means no customs import duties apply and there are no vehicle age restrictions on motorcycles shipped from the mainland.
- No import duties — Puerto Rico is a US territory; no foreign customs charges apply
- No vehicle age restrictions — brand new or vintage, any motorcycle ships without limitation
- Sailings from Jacksonville, FL and Eddystone, PA — two US departure ports serve San Juan
- Cash required at the Spanish Terminal — for destination and terminal fees on collection
- Shortest crossing — one of the quickest international sailings we offer
Documents required to ship a motorcycle to Latin America
Have the following ready before booking. Check the individual country page for destination-specific requirements — Puerto Rico, Panama, and the Dominican Republic each have their own documentation needs.
- Bill of sale
- Title — your name on the front as registered owner. If recently sold, both seller and buyer must sign the back of the title as indicated
- Valid government-issued ID — required at collection at the destination port
- Fuel level at or below a quarter tank before pickup
- Cash for destination and port fees — required on collection at all Latin America ports
- Customs clearance broker — assigned by AA Motorcycle Shipping at booking for Dominican Republic and Panama (details on your Document Receipt). Puerto Rico does not require a customs broker.
What to expect at Latin America customs
Each destination has its own customs process. Your assigned broker handles clearance at the arrival port — the recipient pays applicable duties on-site. Puerto Rico requires no customs clearance at all.
Dominican Republic
Customs agents verify documentation at the Port of Santo Domingo and may inspect the motorcycle. Recipient pays applicable Dominican import duties and taxes on-site in cash. Broker assigned by AA at booking handles clearance coordination.
Panama
Panama’s import policies are among the most accessible in Central America. Customs agents verify paperwork at Balboa or Colón. Recipient pays applicable Panamanian duties on-site in cash. Broker assigned by AA at booking.
Puerto Rico
No customs clearance required — Puerto Rico is a US territory. No import duties, no foreign taxes. Recipient presents valid ID and cash for destination and terminal fees at the Spanish Terminal in San Juan. Straightforward collection process.
⚠️ Vehicle age restrictions may apply in some Latin America countries. Confirm your motorcycle qualifies for import before booking — review the individual country page or call us at 1-888-347-1391.

Pickup at your US address
We send an enclosed truck to your home, dealership, or storage unit anywhere in the USA and transport your motorcycle to the US departure port — Miami, Jacksonville, Houston, Newark, Eddystone, or Long Beach depending on your destination and method.
Vessel departs for Latin America
Your motorcycle is loaded onto the next available RoRo or container sailing. Latin America routes are among our shortest — Miami to Santo Domingo and Miami to Panama are quick Caribbean and Central American crossings compared to the longer Atlantic routes.
Collection at destination port
For Dominican Republic and Panama, your assigned customs broker clears the shipment on arrival — the recipient pays applicable duties and collects the motorcycle. For Puerto Rico, present your ID and cash at the Spanish Terminal — no customs clearance required.
Shipping motorcycles from the USA to Latin America since 1983
Latin America routes are among the most accessible international shipments we offer — short ocean crossings from East Coast and Gulf ports, straightforward documentation requirements, and in the case of Puerto Rico, the simplest collection process of any destination we serve. Riders relocating to the Dominican Republic, Panama, or Puerto Rico choose to ship their own bikes rather than navigate limited local markets or pay a premium for US-spec models that are harder to source abroad.
Puerto Rico’s status as a US territory makes it uniquely simple — no import duties, no customs broker needed, no vehicle age restrictions. The Dominican Republic and Panama both have accessible import processes with broker support assigned by AA at booking. One company manages the full journey from US pickup to Caribbean or Central American port collection — no handoffs, no mystery carriers.
