If you’re coming in from far off, take a plane to Washington Dulles airport and meet up with our shippers to retrieve your bike. This is a week-long trip that will give you deep insight into the history of this portion of the United States. You’ll begin with a ride through Virginia, which happens to be the oldest, largest and wealthiest of the American colonies. Next up is Baltimore, Maryland, a beautiful and charming homage to history.

This 1860s-era colonial village is a treat to walk around. Don’t miss a visit to Gettysburg National Military Park. Next up, just over the Maryland state line, check out Catoctin Mountain State Park, chock full of twists, turns, valleys and rivers. From Route 9 to Route 7, you’ll hit Leesburg with a downtown that easily accommodates bikers as they hit up the diners and nightclubs.
From there, you’re on to Shenandoah National Park, then the stunning Skyline Drive to truly witness the beauty of the park. Go through Waynesboro to access the Blue Ridge Parkway, a 469-mile-long road starting in Front Royal, Virginia, winding through the Appalachians, and ending in Cherokee, North Carolina. From Roanoke, head out toward Lynchburg then Charlottesville, a college town rich in history – home of Thomas Jefferson and the University of Virginia. Next you’re on to Richmond, an historic gem in its own right.
Then you’ll head towards Fredericksburg, the halfway point between Richmond and Washington DC. Don’t miss a visit at the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop, the Rising Sun Tavern, Mary Washington House, and Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania National Military Park. Continue on to Washington DC and spend as much time as you please touring the many museums and monuments found here.
